Liars' Paradise

Liar's Paradise provides a panoramic view of survival during the Holocaust and under the inhumanity of the communist regime in Hungary, under Stalin's rule. The narrative is spiced with nearly fatal escape attempts from communist Hungary, as well as a vivid account of daily life against the backdrop of the dramatic and challenging years of the 20th century.

Most books dealing with communism offer a "gulag" experience. The distinctive element of Liars' Paradise is that its main characters, a mother and her two daughters, are able to outsmart the oppressive regime and manage to thrive.
