Managing and Integrating Trauma With Alpha/Theta Neurofeedback

The widespread manifestation of trauma and its impact on society has emerged as a major issue of our time. Its insidious effects are rampant and far reaching with respect to both mental and physical health and the repercussions are devastating at every level of human interaction. Most contemporary solutions are complex and costly and have limited impact. By exploring its history and impact in terms of physiology, electrophysiology, behavior, and psychological manifestations, this book seeks to offer a potential solution in the form of a rapidly developing but still little known technology of mind/computer interface known as neurofeedback. Alpha-Theta neurofeedback and its development through research is explored in detail in addition to a full consideration of its mechanism of action and implementation at the clinical level.
